Andrew Burn is Reader in Education and New Media in the Faculty of Culture, and Pedagogy and the London Knowledge Lab at the Institute of Education, University of London, and Associate Director of the Centre for the Study of Children, Youth and Media. He has published work on many aspects of the media, including the use of horror films in schools, young people's production work with digital video, the use of computer games in Media education and English, and the multimodal nature of media texts.
Cal Durrant is Associate Professor in English Curriculum and Literacy and Director of the Literacy Research Hub at ACU in Sydney; he is also the commissioning editor for the Australian Association for the Teaching of English (AATE) and editor of AATE's highly acclaimed Interface series. He was a member of the national research team that reported to DEETYA on the ways technology and literacy were being perceived and employed in Australian schools and has been involved in a number of projects that have applied IT to various aspects of teaching and learning.
