Prior to that he was a sports journalist with Wellington's Evening Post, covering rugby, cricket, the America's Cup, basketball and numerous other sports. He was the New Zealand author of Unbeatable Sydney and has written ten other books, including the Shell Cricket Encyclopaedia and biographies of Ewan Chatfield and Brian McKechnie. He currently resides in Christchurch.
