Up until the late 1950s, or even the early part of the 1960s, the branch lines in Devon and Cornwall were still very much a part of the way of life and passed through many miles of delightful countryside. Sadly, only a few of them now remain, and even some of those that do face an uncertain future. In this book the author has selected six of these lines that particulrly appealed to him - one of which remains intact and another which remains partially open - and recalls some of the many happy times spent travelling over them from back in the days immediately before the Second World War. More than that, he has portrayed thei atmonsphere and daiy working, and produced a volume that will appeal not only to present-day railway enthusiasts, but also to all those interested in the heritage of this part of the West Country. Well illustrated, many of the numerous photographs have never previously been published. Ref D 4. N° de réf. du vendeur 037446
