Silvia Hartmann is an author, researcher, and international lecturer. She was born in Germany in 1959 and has lived and worked in the United Kingdom since 1978. Hartmann is the creator of Modern Energy, a new system for understanding and working with energy and emotions. She is also the developer and primary designer of Star Matrix, Modern Energy Tapping, Energy Hypnosis, Project Sanctuary, The Genius Symbols, The Harmony Program, EMO Energy-in-Motion (EmoTrance), and Events Psychology.

She has written over 50 books on topics such as self-help, psychology, creativity, and spirituality. Hartmann is the founder of The Guild of Energists (Learned Society), a professional organization for Modern Energy practitioners.
