À propos de l'auteur

John Goddard, a trained entomologist and Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society, has a deep knowledge of all the insects of rivers and lakes. He has also studied, over many years, the ways of trout and grayling and the waters they inhabit.

He is the author of twelve books on angling, entomology and flytying, including Trout Fly Recognition, John Goddard's Waterside Guide and (with Brian Clarke) The Trout and the Fly. He fishes and hosts fishing expeditions to locations all over the world, from the trout rivers of Montana, Patagonia, Hampshire and New Zealand to the bonefish flats of Florida and the Seychelles. He is a versatile and successful angler - Lefty Kreh simply calls him 'the best'.

His pioneering work as a fly inventor has profoundly affected the development of modern flytying and improved the success of thousands of anglers.
