Synopsis

Writing for Science, second edition, is a practical handbook designed for science, engineering and technology students. It presents material in a direct, easily accessible format that has been developed through dealing with hundreds of students at all undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and with professional engineers and scientists in Europe and Australasia. The second edition has been enlarged to include additional material and a greater range of examples.

À propos de l'auteur

Heather Silyn-Roberts (BSc, PhD) is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Auckland.

She has taught science and engineering documentation at undergraduate level for 12 years and is the convenor of  the faculty¿s four-year undergraduate programme in Professional Development. She also runs programmes for major engineering organisations, and annual programmes for universities and Max Planck Institutes in Germany.

She has written two books on writing for engineering and science students ¿ one for undergraduates, and one for postgraduates and junior professionals ¿ and is currently writing one for professional engineers for the American Society of Civil Engineering.
