On a Monday morning in the summer of 2016, a small group of friends met to form a Creative Writing group on the second floor of Dudley's Bookshop Cafe in Bend, Oregon. Their method was to pick a prompt at random from one of the hundreds of books on the bookshelves, and then write spontaneously for 45-minutes. At the end of the time, they would read their stories aloud to each other without fear of criticism. It soon became evident that the stories were not only entertaining, they were diverse, healing, thought-provoking, often comical and certainly worthy of publication.
As you feast your imagination on the stories, you'll find how each author has uniquely treated the prompt. Each story is a chapter, where each author contributes their interpretation of the same prompt, and for clarity and ease, the stories and the authors are in alphabetical order throughout the book.
