In her solo exhibition, Ray explores female rebellion and the shifting nature of a woman’s identity, including what it means to be a feminist in the South. Large-scale watercolor paintings and sculptural works are juxtaposed with a new large-scale installation examining the life of circus performer Pat Cuneo. Additionally, Ray will present an audio work and will orchestrate two new performances to accompany the exhibition, one at the Van Every/Smith Galleries at Davidson College at the opening on January 25th and one at The Mint Museum Uptown on February 7th.
