This is a page-turning, historical romance with regional influences set against the beautiful backdrop of the Ozark Mountains. The events are fictitious, and are written for the enjoyment of the reader. Most characters within have faded with time but not with memory. The characters believe in God and reviled the Devil, and most importantly, they seldom had time to be bored but felt keenly the pleasures, bites, and sorrows called life. They are in shadows now, but sometimes, late at night, when the wind blows and clouds hide in the moon, one can almost hear those voices from the past.
