Synopsis

The second Goshen Conference on Religion and Science took place in April 2002, with George F.R. Ellis as its keynote speaker. Dr. Ellis presented two public lectures and a private lecture for registered conference participants. These lectures dealt with how cause and effect operates in complex systems in the physical world, the origin and nature of morality, and the science and religion debate. This volume contains the full conference proceedings edited by Goshen College professor of physics, Carl S. Helrich.

George Francis Rayner Ellis, FRS, Hon. FRSSAf (born 11 August 1939), is emeritus distinguished professor of complex systems in the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
