Mark Scriver is one of the world's top open canoeists. He was OC world freestyle champion in 1997 in Ottawa, and came 2nd at the 1993 world championships. In the mid-90s, he was one of the first open canoeists to shorten canoes and adapt them for running harder whitewater, and he's been instrumental in the design of several canoes.
