The third edition of 'An Incomplete Guide to Using Counselling Skills on the Telephone', updated for the online generation of helpers, this is the latest edition of the first UK book on telephone helping written by one of the UK's most widely read counselling authors. Still poplular after nearly 15 years, it is the essential 'how to do it' book, written in Pete Sanders' accessible, jargon-free, commonsense style. It is useful for anyone involved in telephone helping, counselling or therapy, and now includes a chapter and other material on online, or 'computer-mediated' therapy. Practitioners, trainers, and supervisors, whether in private practice or working for an agency, will find this book invaluable. Rich in examples, vignettes and suggestions for training, 'Using counselling skills on the telephone' is practically a course in itself.
Pete Sanders completed his full-time diploma in counselling at the University of Aston in 1974. He worked as a counsellor, trainer and supervisor in further education and private practice for over 25 years. Pete was the lead tutor in three BACP recognised training courses and was instrumental in the Trainer Accreditation Scheme. He has written, edited and/or contributed to over a dozen books on counselling and psychotherapy, specialising in person-centred therapy.
