Dr Charles Rawding is Geography PGCE Course Leader at Edge Hill University. His main research interests lie in curriculum innovation in school geography and the links between school and academic geography. He has published extensively on geography education; his most recent books have been: Reading our landscapes: understanding changing geographies (Chris Kington Publishing, 2007) and Understanding place as a process (Geographical Association, 2007). Dr Vanessa Holden is a Research Fellow in Geography and member of the Environmental Change Group at Edge Hill University. The focus of much of her research is on coastal geomorphology and sedimentology, particularly with regard to the impacts of sea level rise on the natural environment. She gained extensive practical experience as a consultant in private industry in the area of economic development and environmental matters. With a healthy fascination for coastal issues, she maintains a holistic approach to geography, believing it to be essential to truly understanding contemporary topics such as climate change and adaptation by people and ecosystems. Professor Annie Worsley is a Chartered Geographer and Programme Leader for the BSc Hons Environmental Science at Edge Hill University. She is Chair of the Environmental Change Group and Vice- Chair of the Sefton Coast Partnership. Following her work on environmental change in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, her work centres on the role of humans in environmental change and includes investigating coastal changes over the Holocene, how communities adapt to climate change and the impacts of air quality on health. All these diverse, yet geography-centred themes are supported by collaborative partnerships with practitioners and stakeholders including the National Health Service, Health Protection Agency, borough councils, Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the European Union.
