Daryl C. Dance is a professor of English at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. She is the recipient of Ford Foundation Fellowships and a Fulbright research grant. She is the author of Fifty Caribbean Writers, which was named as the outstanding reference book of 1986 by Library Journal; Folklore from Contemporary Jamaicans; Honey, Hush!; Long Gone; and Shuckin' and Jivin'.
