Catalogue is the first collection of the work of Project Orange, the highly successful and inovative design and architecture practice. Project Orange, having demonstrated a keen interest in design and cultural issues through their work, referencing here, with tongue-in-cheek and yet soberly, the previous 'catalogues' of IKEA, Sears, Habitat, and the like. Concerned, at the same time, with the relationship between ideas, interiors and buildings, Project Orange consider that progress and recent technological advances mean that the way people percieve their environments are always in flux. For them, architecture literally provides the containers for us to work and live within; but more than this, these containers create a framework of meaning for inhabitation and lifestyle. In Catalogue these and other of Project Orange's beliefs are made accessible to everybody with an interest in style, design and the built environment. 120 colour illustrations

Trade Paperback. Etat : Used - Good. 'Catalogue is the quirky title of this, the first collection of the work of Project Orange, the highly successful and innovative design and architecture practice. Project Orange, having demonstrated a keen interest in design and cultural issues through their work, referencing here, with tongues-in-cheeks the previous 'catalogues' of IKEA, Sears, Habitat, and the like. Believing that the question of 'style' is very important to the appreciation and success of their work, Project Orange enjoy designing stylishly. 'Catalogue is the record of this enjoyment. The book sets out this stylishness, looking at contemporary ways of living where our domestic environments reflect what we have become accustomed to in hotel and restaurant design, and vis-a-versa. The cross-over from one way of living to another is, for them, and area of pleasurable discovery. Using a diverse palette of colours, materials and finishes Project Orange play with our expectations of the ways in which we think we should and would like to live.
