Synopsis

In the UK it is thought that at least 200,000 children are cared for by a relative, friend or other person connected to them. Worth Publishing, a leading publisher in the field of mental health for disadvantaged children for 20 years, launches a complete support guide for all those relatives and friends who look after children when, for whatever reason, their birth parents are unable to do so. Uniquely, the book also grants free access to the new Kinship FAMILY APP. Like the book, the APP is based on the Belonging Model developed by Dr Rachael King (Educational Psychologist, Andrea Perry ( Integrative Psychotherapist) and Robert Tyler ( lived experience looked after child). The book is written in a straightforward and easily accessible style and is intended to be a practical resource and reference for all kinship carers.
