Synopsis

'It's well worth rewinding Tapehead. He loves to hate television and he hates to love it. The funniest, most acerbic critic of the small screen writing in Britain today.' Will Self

'Tapehead is to soap bosses what Phil Mitchell is to Walford. Unwanted, unloved and indispensable' John Yorke, Executive Producer, EastEnders

Jim Shelley loves television. Usually he is indulgent towards the object of his affections and forgiving when it is slipshod and self-regarding. Yet, like other lovers, there are times when the relationship sours and his patience snaps.

Razor sharp and uproariously funny, this book brings together the best of Shelley's brilliant writing on television. We rediscover Tapehead's passion for Ali G, The Bill and The Sopranos and his long-running feuds with the Naked Chef, Prince Edward, Richard E. Grant and Brookside's Lindsey Corkhill. Interference is a scabrous audit of the nation's viewing habits.

'I read your review last week and it was like being sprayed with hot shit... So shame on your head really. I hope you get some life threatening disease very soon' Richard E Grant
