Written in a straightforward A to Z format, the author covers all aspects of training. He also gives advice on field trials, breeding and general care and management of gundogs.
At the start of the book the author details a step-by-step training schedule and by following this the reader can plan their dog's training and check that the dog is developing as it should be.
The text is accompanied by line drawings and photographs all of which amplify the various points made by the author. With its wealth of sound, practical advice based on forty years' experience of training gundogs, Joe Irving's book will be of benefit to both the new trainer and to those who are more experienced.

À propos de l'auteur
Joe Irving has been training gundogs since acquiring his first Springer Spaniel in 1963. He has written a number of books on gundog training including Training Spaniels (1-85310-419-1) and Gundogs: Their Learning Chain (1-84037-033-5). He lives in southwest Scotland.
