Raymond Sheppard (illustrateur). ALL UK PARCELS SENT TRACKED! ALL OVERSEAS PARCELS SENT AIRMAIL, TRACKED! (New, Hardcover, 2009). 2009 1st edition. Square folio (260 x 310mm). Pp352. Colour paintings & sketches throughout, decorative end-papers. Black boards. Mint in dust-wrapper. "Raymond Sheppard was a hugely gifted artist and illustrator who studied and worked in and around London during the first half of the twentieth century. He was a very versatile painter who specialised in mostly animal subjects, spending many hours at the London Zoo researching and sketching. Despite the interruption of the Second World War and a long [and fatal] illness from cancer, he was still a very prolific artist. Much of the book's text [consists of] Raymond Sheppard's own words and has been taken from the three 'Studio Publications' on drawing published in the late 1940's and early 1950's." This book also includes many of Sheppard's book illustrations, especially those from Jim Corbett's books, Maneaters of Kumaon and others, and those done for Hemingway's The Old Man and The Sea, including a number that were not published.
