This is a fascinating story of a Sunderland seafarer, born in the last year of the nineteenth century. It is a tale of faraway places, from the cold of northern Canada to the heat of the tropics and as far south as New Zealand. Although Captain Proctor sadly passed away in 1986, this book, which has been published in his memory, stands as a fitting tribute to a remarkable seafaring life.
