Ann is an independent education adviser, leadership coach and writer working with schools, Local Authorities, and national organisations. Over more than 30 years in education, she has worked at many levels including, headteacher, Ofsted inspector, School Improvement Partner, senior local authority manager, and national adviser and has contributed to a wide range of government led consultative groups. As a result she brings a wealth of leadership and management experience to her work. Throughout her career, Ann has sustained a passion for excellence in assessment that began as a classroom teacher and became a focal point for her work across the leadership roles she has held. She has created and led innovative collaborative training, enabling partnerships of schools to review and improve assessment practices; worked with individual school leaders to review and refine assessment practice; and led training for groups of leaders from Britain and abroad seeking to review and develop their assessment practices. A consistent feature of feedback from those with whom she has worked has been the high value of the resources provided, to assist focused, analytical review and development, undertaken as individuals and as collaborative groups. This toolkit is a direct outcome of that work. Combining tools to assist leaders with advice on the pertinent research and resources to support improvement work.
