À propos de l'auteur

Dr Anne Coles MA in geography and political economy, doctorate on water supply, settlement and livelihoods in part of Sudan. Re-qualified in public health (nutrition) to facilitate work with women and children. Mixed academic teaching with applied research, consultancy and project implementation for NGOs and international agencies. Senior social development adviser with UK department for International Development 1992-1998. Presently a research associate at the international Gender Studies Centre at Queen Elizabeth House. Co-edited book on Gender Water and Development published July 2005. Vice-chair of INTRAC, an NGO specialising in operational research and capacity building/training. In Dubai in 1968-1971. Researched adaption to summer climate, seasonal migration and summer housing. Worked as the Geographer with the Malaria Control Unit. Assisted to set up the original Dubai Museum. Peter Jackson RIBA Studied architecture at the Bartlett School, UCL, working first in London, with periods of employment in the early 1970 s in Dubai and Muscat, & as architect on an Iron Age dig in southern Jordan. From 1976 he worked in Zambia, & in 1980 established his own practice in Zimbabwe. In 2002 he returned to Dubai, where he is a senior architect with Godwin Austen Johnson. He has authored many articles on architectural historical research, and the book Historic Buildings of Harare . He was for many years Honorary Historic Buildings Advisor to the City of Harare.
