As economic growth slows and property prices fall while inflation rises, we are all beginning to feel it where it hurts in our pockets. On his weekly Pricewatch page in The Irish Times, Conor Pope has watched and exposed the worst - and the best - of what is on offer to Irish consumers. Now he has put together his years of research and experience as an observer to offer insights, warnings and money saving tips we can all benefit from. Stop Wasting Your Money looks at the main areas of spending in our lives, including Travel, Food, Communications, Financial Services, Entertainment, and Transport and offers tips on saving money in each area leading to a handsome payoff at the end. Simply put, spend a tenner on the book today and save a grand over the course of the next 12 months.
Conor Pope is a consumer journalist with responsibility for the ever-popular Pricewatch page, which appears on Mondays in The Irish Times. On the page, he reviews products ranging from the most cutting-edge mobile phones and digital cameras to the cheapest pasta sauces and disposable razors and champions the cause of consumers fed up of shocking customer service and shockingly high prices. He is the consumer agony uncle on Ray Darcys morning radio show on Today FM and is also a frequent contributor on the Last Word with Matt Cooper as well as a number of RTE Radio and television shows. He recently was the mean judge on the popular RTE 1 consumer show Highly Recommended. He lives in Dublin with his wife and young daughter.
