John Hopkins, the golf correspondent of The Times, who was born in Wales, went to school in Wales, holidayed in Wales, and played a certain amount of golf until he was 18 in Wales. He now lives there too and is a member of Royal Porthcawl golf club. John Hopkins has selected some of his favourite golf courses and written an essay about each of them. His writing is informative, entertaining, humorous and individual.
