Anthony Day is a speaker, writer and management accountant - he is not a member of Greenpeace, the Greens, Friends of the Earth or any campaigning group. He is not paid (sadly) by an oil company to promote a particular opinion. His views are his own. Anthony has worked in the private sector, in the National Health and in Local Government. During the 1990s he was based in Brussels where he was general secretary of the British Chamber of Commerce. Subsequently he set up a company, which prepared the staff of multinationals to be ready to use the euro. The programme was presented to 75,000 people in 18 countries and 13 different languages. As an accountant, he is concerned with the practical effects of climate change and energy on business, society and our fundamental economic survival. A business graduate, he has spoken to management audiences throughout Europe. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a Fellow of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management. He edited The Business Detective's Casebook. He is married to Mary, his wife of 30 years, and they live in York.
