Hi Mate I hope you dont mind me emailin you. I didnt know wether to or not but hey I thought I would. I got your church website from your book and then saw you had a personal email. I just wanted to say i read your book and man it was like really great. I havnt been in a church for like 2yrs but still think about God. I was traveling home from work one day (AUG 4th) and this woman sitting opposite me on the train was reading your book and i was like being nosey a bit trying to see what it was. when she got up she gave me the book and said its a great, read it! I was like wow! like she seemed as if she knew me but i didnt recognise her. Any how I read it an like couldnt put it down! I just think its brilliant mate and like I was well wow'd and touched by it. Its got me thinking about more about God again but like im not sure how to move ahead yet. I gave my life to Jesus when I was atta youth camp and it was like really such an experience i wont ever forget it. and I was in this church for ages and played music and stuff. then to cut a long story short I things got a bit tough and I moved away from the church. like you know when you say things like God show me your really there? well I had said that and this woman gave me your book so maybe he is. Hope this makes sense mate! But the long and short of it is I really enjoyed it and good on you for doing it and the walk. Its certainly got me thinking. any how thanks and keep well mate Pete --Pete (name change) - a random stranger --A Random stranger

Hey Gary Just finished your book and scarily it has had quite a profound effect on me... It's taken me most of the summer, since before Re:Act, but it has really spoken to me and challenged me. I was reading the long section following the walk in detail while at New Wine (while it was raining!) and it even managed to survive getting left out in the rain one day with only minimal superficial damage. I found this only made my identify more strongly with your days of walking in the rain! It really challenged me about seeing God do extraordinary things in the ordinary things of life and far more than the 'international speakers' in Shepton Mallett, I came home inspired about what anyone can do in their daily walk. It's great stuff. I also loved the way you wrote it in normal language - I could imagine you telling all the stories in the pub rather than written in the book and loved the numerous footballing references and stories - especially the monk's finding you a TV... Lastly, I just got to one of the end section where you talked about re-discovering taking time to pray together aloud and reading the Word aloud - and we happen to reading through the Bible, round the clock, from cover to cover at my church this week and I'm utterly loving it. Talk about a confirmation! So be encouraged, even though the walk is now a while back (and I deeply regret not having more time in my schedule to have joined you for a leg as Mr Fudge had suggested...), the impact of your experience is still being seen! Hope you've recovered from Pinewood now and I'll catch you soon. Paul --Worker for Urban Saints (youth organisation)

If you ever thought you heard God calling then read this book - it is the most honest account of what happens when you say 'Yes Lord'. Gary Lamb answered God's call and despite his own misgivings, God revealed Himself to many around the coastline of Britain. Written with honesty and a desire to bless all those that he came into contact with, Legs of Lamb is an uplifting account of what it means to follow Jesus. Liz. --A Church member

My Book Intro: This walk thing all started what seems a long time ago when l was just a wee bairn. A what? Is this the real Gary Lamb using a Scots term like wee bairn ? Born and bred in the south-east corner of Kent, isn t he the most typical user of local slang? Ha, whatever has happened to this plastics factory worker, or do I mean slacker? There you go, boys at VERTEX , Folkestone; I said that I would mention you in the book! Really it all started when I was nineteen, as that strange voice that I had become accustomed to hearing down the years exploded into my conscience. Gary, I want you to walk around Britain. So why not join me on the same journey, sharing with me through my written memories of a four thousand five hundred mile trek in which I tasted a unique brew of exhilaration, disappointment, adventure, boredom, sun, wind, rain, pride and embarrassment all somehow blended together to enrich my personal walk with God? As we move along together, walk with me across the thresholds of many wonderful homes, thrown open to me simply because I was a Christian. Find out how numerous strangers became my overnight friends. Enter into the variety of emotions which I experienced daily as yet another new location came and went. Above all let this book encourage your faith in the God who walks through life s ups and downs with us, and who wants to be your constant lifelong walking companion. My prayer is that reading about my adventure will inspire you to follow your own heart wherever God is taking you.
