Snowdonia: Park under Pressure is a compelling and deeply researched account of one of Britain’s most treasured landscapes – and the organisation that has fought to protect it for over forty years.
Written to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Snowdonia Society, this book explores the history, activism, conflicts, and conservation work that have shaped the Snowdonia National Park into the place it is today. Whether you are a long-time resident, outdoor enthusiast, or curious visitor, this is your essential guide to the heart and heritage of Eryri.
Inside this book you will discover:

A celebration of beauty – and a warning about fragility.
Snowdonia is more than a landscape. It is a living, contested space where nature, culture, industry, and tourism collide. Park under Pressure captures this ongoing story with clarity, honesty and a deep love for the mountains.
