Josephine Scott was born in Northumberland but spent most of her childhood in Sydney, Australia. Her first collection was Sparkle and Dance (Red Squirrel Press, 2009). She has been published by Moodswing, Northern Lines, the Ofi Press and is included in the anthology Double Bill (Red Squirrel Press, 2014). She has an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Northumbria. Josephine has read extensively throughout the UK and was co-director of Free As a Bard, the monthly spoken word event at Whitley Bay, North Tyneside.
Rituals, the second poetry collection from popular poet Josephine Scott, takes its title from a poem about just that, the rituals of everyday life often lost, occasionally mystical, sometimes those of our parents, which may have even gone unnoticed by most family members. Josephine Scott, though, isn't most people: with a keen eye and a feather-light touch, she writes with feeling and great skill.
