Synopsis

In this narrative play, migrants from the west coast of Africa travel across the unfriendly terrains of the Sahara Desert to search for greener pastures in Europe. Unlike other travellers, they lack the essential resources for the journey but are sustained by their adventurous instincts and sense of humour. After a while, they began to bow to the frustrating hands of the Sahara Desert – so they kept wondering why they took the trip in the first place. Although they spend hours entertaining themselves by dramatising the harsh realities of the nation they left behind, they still find themselves trapped in an endless and insidious maze. While some are marooned or even die, some arrive at the shores of Europe, holding tight to rickety crafts supplied by greedy opportunists who ferry them across the Mediterranean, as they come face to face with more uncertainties.
