Synopsis

Concerned at the amount of indiscriminate historical inaccuracy contained in many popular films teacher Bernard Gray introduced a module into his history syllabus aimed at encouraging his students to question what they were being presented with and to seek out the real truth surrounding the characters and events portrayed.‘History In Film’ is an extension of this idea. The author has selected fifty popular movies from down the years and assessed their degree of historical accuracy. His hope is that his readers, like his students, will be less inclined in future to accept what they see in film as fact but will be encouraged to seek out the real truth for themselves.
