Anneliese Emmans Dean grew up in York and studied Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge University. Her playful poems for children and for adults are used in projects up and down the country. She brings her books 'Buzzing!' and 'Flying High!' to life in 'edu-taining' poetry shows that she performs in schools, theatres and festivals nationwide. She has been commissioned to write and perform poems nationally and internationally by, amongst others, BBC Radio 2, Radio 4 and the World Service. Her books and performances have won a number of awards. She previously worked as a phonetician for the Oxford English Dictionary, as an editor of academic and educational books, and as a translator. Anneliese now lives back in York, where she first started birdwatching when she was little, and where she's a patron of her local nature reserve. Find out more at her website, www.theBigBuzz.biz.
