DO YOU LOVE FOOTBALL, HISTORY, WAR AND POLITICS?
Then this is the book for you.
DO YOU HATE FOOTBALL, HISTORY, WAR AND POLITICS?
Then this is the book for you.
After more than a century of immaculate footballing underachievement, Middlesbrough Football Club enjoyed its most
successful period beginning with victory in the 2004 League Cup Final and ending on a disastrous night in Eindhoven.
How did we get there... not just the extraordinary run in that tournament, and not just in sport, but historically,
as a town, and as a community?
My Only Boro is not just about Middlesbrough Football Club, it’s not just a history book about the town and it’s not just
a social commentary on a town once described as the worst place to live in Britain – it’s all this and more.

Will Nett is 31 and from Middlesbrough. This is his first book, although he claims to have read loads. Unusually for an author, he d rather be doing anything else other than writing planting sugar cane, throwing people out of cinemas or trying to sell you a portable Sudoku machine incidentally all things he s done in the past, with varying degrees of success, hence this book. He s officially been an author for about as long as it takes to make a cup of tea, but has been trying to be an author since the last Millennium. He tries to remain neutral for the good of his work but has had several arguments/fights in all corners of the globe concerning the sheer greatness of his hometown. He also swears a lot. Seriously. Loads.
My Only Boro is not just about Middlesbrough Football Club, it s not just a history book about the town and it s not just a social commentary on a town once described as the worst place to live in Britain it s all this and more.
