Hardcover. Etat : Good. 2016 Yorkshire Sculpture Park large format hardcover edition. Light reading wear, else very good condition. From the cover: Back to the Land is an exhibition of work by Henry Moore, who was born in Castleford in 1898 and is recognised as one of the most important artists of the twentieth century. Moore found inspiration in prehistoric and worldwide artefacts as well as the geology, land and ancient monuments of Britain, which informed a consideration of his own sculpture in relation to landscape. The works on display share Moore's curiosity for what lies beneath, forging a thread that links his childhood exploration of caves and rocks with organic forms such as bones and shells, all of which fed his creative imagination. This publication features in situ exhibition photography, and extraordinary images both of the landscapes that inspired Moore, and his monumental bronzes in the open air at Yorkshire Sculpture Park across the seasons. New poems by Simon Armitage, written in response to particular works by Moore, sit alongside a selection of verse by Ted Hughes, which resonates with Moore's own approach to the land, weather and geology. It also features texts by Helen Pheby PhD and Peter Murray CBE. N° de réf. du vendeur 0C-K2O8-A74S
