Présentation de l'éditeur

A CRIME-THRILLER SET IN CENTRAL ASIA QUESTIONS the extent of the Russian mafia's reach and throws new light on a clandestine organisation that remains one-step ahead of both law enforcement and the criminal underworld. In a journey from Russia to Kazakhstan, arriving in the oil town of Atyrau, Sam Mitchell becomes embroiled in a money-laundering scheme. Implicated, he decides to make a run for home. Who is Sam Mitchell? Is he an MI6 asset? Is he a thief, a murderer, and a rapist? Could he be just an innocent young mathematics graduate walking the silk roads of Asia? How can we know? He's told nothing but lies from the minute he set foot in Atyrau. Where would you go? Your embassy? Is that wise? The tentacles of the Russian Mafia, within the former Soviet Union, may easily reach that far. How does Sam Mitchell know not to be so rash? With an army, and the entirety of Russia's law enforcement agencies scouring the country - where do you go? Disappear into the Siberian wastelands? After all, it's a mammoth country. Where strength of character will be tested. Where one mistake can mean the end. Where Sam's only hold on life is his desire to seek forgiveness from the girl he left behind. Or do you seek help from friends? Who is Boris Voikevich? A petty smuggler? He has an intimate knowledge of Russia's underworld. Is he a man of immense heart and part of an even more clandestine organisation? Asset is an ambitiously conceived, complex and well executed conspiracy thriller; packed with double-dealing, vengeance, romance, and action.
