Alex Wheatle is one of the UK's most popular Black British authors. He has written books for adults and teenagers, including the critically acclaimed Brixton Rock, Crongton Knights and The Humiliations of Welton Blake. He has been awarded an MBE for services to literature and has previously won The Guardian's children's fiction prize. In 2020, his story was featured on the award-winning BBC series SMALL AXE, A Collection of Five Films.
