Born in 1973 in Lageado, in the southern Brazilian state of Parana, Rozana McGrattan, then Rozana Ramos, experienced a life of hardship, neglect, abuse and extreme poverty, like so many of her compatriots. But what makes Rozana's story so unique is the way she was not defeated by circumstances. Instead, she managed to rise above it all and create not only a better and prosperous future for herself, but also for others.Living in the UK since January 2000, she is divorced, a mother of a daughter and a son, and is a successful businesswoman who employs dozens of people in London and in the Hertfordshire County though her two businesses - Right Option Cleaning and Delightful Events Catering. Rozana is also a strong advocate of poverty eradication, domestic abuse prevention and animal welfare. She sponsors and supports a number of charities, including NSPCC, RSPCA, Cancer Research UK, and I am Cherished - a charity dedicated to supporting victims of domestic abuse in Hemel Hempstead and wider Dacorum area. One of Rozana's main motivation for writing Street Girl was to make a positive impact on people's lives. Therefore, five percent of all book sales from the opening week, including pre-orders, will be donated to I am Cherished. In addition, the book's publisher Pen Works Media, will also donate five percent of the first week's sales to another charity provider of mental health services. Rozana feels that her ultimate mission in life is "...to be the voice of those who cannot be heard. The modern world can be really unfair, despite all of its economic and technological advances, even with all the information available nowadays, women and children are still particularly vulnerable and exposed to all kinds of abuse".
