Established in 1924, CF Møller Architects is one of Scandinavia s oldest and largest architectural practices, whose work ranges from landscape architecture to product design and healthcare planning as well as logistics and management. Rather than offering a conventional survey of the practice s work, The Architecture of the Welfare Estate looks at the practice s values and at the way in which these have been re-interpreted to suit the needs of individual projects. The works presented are organised according to seven different themes: Context , Daylight , Sustainability , User-driven , International/Localized , Teamwork , Art and Architecture . Each of these themes represents one of the values embraced by the practice in relation to the conditions of the Danish context, as well as referencing the wider Scandinavian Welfare States and how both might be perceived from an international perspective. For over 90 years the practice has been developing a socialdemocratic architecture, the results of which can be seen in the University of Aarhus (a project started in 1931), as well as in their work in the sectors of healthcare, education and housing. This can explicitly be seen in projects such as the Bislett Stadium, the Student Housing for the University of Southern Denmark, the National Maritime Museum s Sammy Ofer Wing, the Sølvgade School and the Akersus University Hospital.
