The Will of God is an enormous subject and this book does not attempt to cover every aspect of it. There are a number of ways of looking at the Will of God; theologians often distinguish between God s decretal will and God's preceptual will. God s decretal will is what He decrees will happen. He is sovereign and His purposes will not be thwarted. God s preceptual will is what He would like to happen, in terms of the way He wants us to live. It this second one, His preceptual will, that is of concern to the majority of Christians and this is the one dealt with clearly and thoroughly in this book. What would God like us to do?
