Among the many well-know writers who have contributed are, from the UK: Claudia Roden, Clarissa Hyman, Judy Jackson, The Jewish Princesses, Denise Philipps, Rose Prince, Judi Rose, Restaurant Kaifeng, Michael van Straten, Linda Dangoor, Lady Sacks, Marlena Spieler; from the USA: Florence Fabricant, Ken Alba, Barbara Kafka, Poopa Dweck, Fred Plotkin, Paula Wolfert, Stanley Ginsberg, Mitchell Davis, Steven Raichlen, Deborah Madison; from Israel: Yotam Ottolenghi, Sami Tamimi and from Australia Nadine Abensur. The proceeds from the compilation will be donated to food-related charities including Leket Israel and Table to Table, which offers food distribution to charities.

This engaging cookbook features their favorite recipes, encouraging the use of seasonal produce. The proceeds from the compilation will be donated to Gefiltefest, the only British charity that has Jewish culinary tradition as its primary focus and believes in proudly enjoying Jewish heritage and keeping culinary traditions alive.

Gefiltefest is a new Jewish food charity dedicated to raising the profile of the rich culinary heritage of Jewish cuisine in an entertaining and interactive way. In seeking to change the way the Jewish community thinks about food it organises a range of food-related projects and the flagship event is the annual Gefiltefest London Jewish Food Festival. Everyone eats, and Gefiltefest thinks food is an exciting way to bring people together to explore the relationship between Judaism and food, educating and enthusing them about all aspects of Jewish food including food heritage, ethics, culture and traditions. Their main vision and aims are: To celebrate, promote and revive the richness of Jewish culinary traditions, to provide opportunities for food-related learning, to encourage the Jewish community to engage with ethical issues in an accessible way, encouraging them to think about key issues such as sustainability, the environment, food production, organic food, ethical kashrut, food poverty and waste, and to use food to create a greater understanding of Jewish identity, faith and customs within and beyond the Jewish community. No other British charity has Jewish culinary traditions as its primary focus, providing opportunities to participate in a variety of locations from people s homes to lecture theatres or with online video projects such as the Sixty Second Spiels.
