Revue de presse

Michael Rudman is a teller of tales to his core. It's how he engages with the world, in life, in the rehearsal room. For those who know him this narrative woven out of the stories of his life is something of an eye-opener. For those who don't know him: it is brilliant, compelling, complex, entirely original, unlike any book of theatrical memoirs, or any book about the theatre you've ever read or ever will read. A selfportrait set within a group portrait, it reveals a world in which the author has lived and worked all his adult life, which he sets down with wryly loving perceptiveness. It's accurate, surprising, wise, reckless, affecting. And, always and at all times, it is very, very funny. --Simon Callow

Everyone who loves the theatre will have a wonderful time reading Michael Rudman's witty memoir, and those who think they aren't interested in the theatre will still enjoy the stories and the jokes (you can t have too many) all good ones! In fact, I found myself wanting to revisit every single one of his productions: since that is not possible, a vivid and at times moving book will have to do. --Lady Antonia Fraser

There is a good laugh on almost every page! --The Spectator

There are few who could match his experience in everything from British regional theaters to Broadway and this book is a feast for theater lovers. Highly recommended. --Jarlath O'Connell, The American
