A propos du livre

Revue de presse

"Notoriously critical of his own work - he professed that he was "only interested in printing great photographs ", not merely good ones - much of the material from Feinstein's collaborations with McQueen remained in his private archive until his death in 2011. Now the revealing images of the King of Cool have been put together in one stunning collection." --GQ Online

"A stunning photographic volume of unseen Steve McQueen; an amazing collection of unpublished images of the public and private life of a true icon." --Huffington Post UK

"They capture the iconic actor at the race track, on the set of Bullitt and relaxing with friends, images that have remained completely unseen until now but are reproduced for the first time in this book." --Mod Culture

"A new book demonstrates why Steve McQueen's style and legacy has never been more important." --Mr Porter

"No one has ever looked as cool while riding a motorcycle as Steve McQueen...whether playing with one on the set of Bullit, bikes were never far away from the actor.... see other such candid moments expertly captured by Feinstein with the notoriously private star." --Shortlist

"A mesmerizing collection of never-before-seen photographs have captured the icon that was Steve McQueen at the height of his movie career. The stunning 120-plus monochromatic images were taken by one of McQueen's closest friends, Barry Feinstein, who was notorious for restricting access to his incredible, closely guarded photographic archive." --Daily Mail

'Barry Feinstein didn't just capture images; rather he crafted them, using the fleeting moments of the actor's achingly conscious affectations to turn his subject into folk history. This was Feinstein's most saleable skill.' --Influx Magazine
