Synopsis

This treatment of the subject of philosophy is “different” and for a number of good reasons. First, it is firmly in opposition to much of what is said on the subject by modern authors who address the subject of philosophy; and it maintains that this is for compelling reasons. Secondly, it has been put together in a form that is accessible to “everyone”. Thirdly, subjects which are considered “factual” by experts our examined under the “gaze” of True Philosophy with consequences that can appropriately be described as revealing, sometimes even startling.

À propos de l'auteur

Formerly a successful businessman, N. M. Gwynne has, for many years, been teaching just about every subject to just about every sort of pupil in just about every sort of circum¬stance – English, Latin, Greek, French, German, math¬¬¬ematics, history, classical phil¬o¬-sophy, natural med¬icine, the elements of music and 'How to start up and run your own business' – in lecture halls, large class¬rooms, small class¬¬rooms and homes – to pupils from three years old to over seventy – of many different nationalities and in several diff¬er-ent countries – and, since 2007, 'face-to-face' over the Internet. His teaching methods are very much in accordance with the trad¬¬it-ional, common-sense ones, refined over the cen¬t¬uries, that were used almost everywhere until they were abolished worldwide in the 1960s and subsequently. His teaching has been considered sufficiently remarkable – both in its unusualness in today's world and in its gen¬uinely speedy effec-tive¬ness – to have featured in news¬paper and magazine articles and on television and radio programmes. Previously published books by him are: Gwynne's Grammar: The Ultimate Introduction to Gram¬mar and the Writing of Good English. (Ebury Press, London, 2013.)
