Eating is a moral act: our choices of what, when and how we eat have a huge impact upon the Earth, our fellow human beings and other living creatures. Faith in Food is a unique vision, combining essays, scripture, storytelling, recipes, initiatives and general wisdom in one beautifully produced book, all seeking to change our relationship with what we eat and how we obtain our food. Altogether this is a groundbreaking collaboration between Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, Sikhism and Hinduism, alongside secular organisations as well, to get people thinking, acting and eating!

Susie Weldon was a newspaper and magazine journalist for around two decades in England and Hong Kong, including several years covering environmental issues for which she won an award. For the past four years she has headed ARC's food and agriculture programmes, including Faith in Food and ARC's sustainable agriculture projects in Africa. She used to keep her own hens, is a member of a vegetable box scheme and is also a failed allotment owner but remains optimistic every Spring that her vegetable growing efforts will finally succeed. She was born in Malawi and has travelled widely in Africa and Asia. She is co-author of a guidebook to Kyrgyzstan, Kyrgyz Republic, published by Odyssey. Sue Campbell has spent most of her professional life as a reporter and sub-editor on British newspapers - with time out for good behaviour. She spent a year in India as a voluntary teacher in her early 20s (where she discovered a fondness for daal and chapattis for breakfast), and two years running a birding and fishing camp on the Okavango River in Botswana. She and her husband later ran their own hot-air balloon company in Zimbabwe in the mid-Nineties. Sue, who enjoys travel, wine appreciation and scuba-diving (but not particularly in that order) says: 'The Faith in Food initiative brings together my interests in food, other countries and cultures, animal welfare and conservation to a natural crossroads.'
