The importance of food safety culture and its effect on the implementation of food safety practices is increasingly recognised. However, there is a lack of information on the theoretical underpinning and practical application of food safety culture. This book seeks to redress these deficiencies. Whilst specifically applied to food safety, the culture concept and underlying principles discussed in this book can also be applied to compliance in other highly regulated environments, making it suitable for other industry sectors. The book is particularly suitable for the Level 3 Award in Developing a Positive Food Safety Culture and some of the topics it covers include: models of food safety culture, types of food safety cultures, food safety leadership and standards, the Griffith approach to classifying and assessing food safety culture, the FSA food safety culture toolkit and food safety communication.
