Maria Kay is an experienced literacy teacher. She has worked with young children, older children, adults, families and children with learning difficulties to promote literacy skills. Her love of children’s stories has inspired her to produce her own. Maria Kay is also the author of ‘Sound Before Symbol – Developing Literacy through Music’, explaining the pivotal role musical activities can play for young children in helping to build a sound foundation for literacy success.
