My name is Stephen Sawyer and I have spent in excess of 24 years working in the motorsport and automotive industry. I gained BTEC HNC & HND at college and studied mechanical engineering with the Open University. I have held many positions from apprentice to company director and have designed and built single seat and saloon racecars that won their championships, to the world s greatest supercars working with Gordon Murray at McLaren, and the development of advanced occupant safety systems working with many major brands around the world. I have led government funded research teams for the development of electric and hybrid vehicle design and system technologies that now form part of the modern F1 car.
