Based on the best of contemporary biblical scholarship, M G Magill, in these meditations, gets to the heart of Jesus' suffering. These highly evocative reflections use modern language to transport the reader to the time and place of Jesus' crucifixion. What comes across is the sheer humanity of Jesus' torment and betrayal. As well as a spiritual reflection, this volume succeeds in bringing us closer to a real understanding of what it meant for God made man to suffer the Passion and Crucifixion. The book is illustrated by a series of stunning paintings by Ken Cooke.
