The Wedding-guest us the title poem and title of the final collection of selected poetry by the British translator and poet Keith Bosley (1937-2018). The title deliberately evokes Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner: in Bosley's lyrical narrative is the the guest who holds the listener and recounts the story. The poem itself, said to be based on story told to Bosley by a friend, is a wartime account of survival in a Nazi concentration camp in Latvia and later in Riga and Sachsenhausen, weaving in recollections of Soviet occupation and Allied bombing raids. The collection, which includes some previously unpublished works, is a retrospective of Bosley's work. Bosley was in declining health as the volume was being prepared for publication but saw it published before his death later the same year. N° de réf. du vendeur 045246
