The Quaker Tapestry is a modern masterpiece, a narrative crewel embroidery, in which 4,000 men, women and children from 15 countries had a hand in the making. This full colour Pictorial Guide beautifully illustrates and describes all 77 panels of the Quaker Tapestry. The accompanying text, revised for this third edition of the full guide, provides a wonderful companion to dip into again and again. Journey through the Quaker influence on the modern world: explore the industrial revolution, developments in science and medicine, astronomy, the abolition of slavery, social reform, and ecology; and delight in the stunning needlework and craftsmanship involved in the creation of these vibrant embroidered panels.
