From Nairobi fintech to Lagos healthcare, Accra fashion to Cape Town manufacturing—17 African entrepreneurs share how they're building profitable businesses solving real problems. Not aspirational storytelling. Actual founders, actual challenges, actual solutions.
Making Futures profiles 17 African entrepreneurs building businesses across 14 countries and multiple sectors—technology, manufacturing, agriculture, social enterprise, creative economy. Rather than celebrating unicorns or recycling startup mythology, Sangu Delle documents what actually works: founders navigating capital constraints, regulatory complexity, infrastructure gaps, and market realities whilst building profitable, scalable companies. These are stories of agency, imagination and purpose—showing Africa's future belongs to people solving problems with businesses, not waiting for solutions from elsewhere.
Sangu Delle is a Harvard-trained entrepreneur, TED speaker, and CEO of Golden Palm Investments, with direct experience of building and investing in African businesses. He brings insider knowledge of what it actually takes to build companies in African markets—the capital structures, regulatory navigation, team building, and market development that textbooks ignore.
